From what I see and from what I've geard, almost nobody is buying CDs anymore. Most CD shops are now closed. Vinyls are hardly selling, and mp3s are popular, but not from legal sources. 95% of the mp3s on people's machines were not bought anywhere.
It's quite depressing, I know...
